I have Windows 7 Pro installed on my laptop. I am the only user defined on
that laptop and am the administrator.

I have an old batch file on C: drive that I used to run in the task
scheduler when I had XP Pro on it. But now I cannot modify that file. When
trying to save that file, I get an access denied error.

Earlier, I was getting an error that a required permission is not held by
the client. I made me the owner of the C drive. So that w.

Thanks. is very annoying to say the leastent away, but still cannot modify
the file.

Can anyone please have any ideas on how to fix this? It

Your question really belongs into a Win7 forum such as this one:
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7repair/threads. The cause
for your problem is UAC (User Access Control) which generally prevents you
from saving files in certain places such as C:\ or C:\Windows. There are two
ways out of your predicament:
a) Store the file in some other folder, then adjust your scheduled task
accordingly.
b) Create a shortcut on your desktop that runs cmd.exe and change one of its
many properties so that it runs under Administrative privileges. You can now
use it to launch a Console session, then use notepad.exe to modify and save
the batch file.
