DFS Replication cannot replicate with partner <servername>

Trying to set up replication between two Windows 2003 R2 servers.

Everything appears correct, but DFS replication health report says for
server1:

"DFS Replication canot replicate with partner <server2> due to a
communication error. .... but failed with error ID: 1825 (A security
package specific error occurred.). Event ID: 5002

and for server2 says:
"DFS Replication cannot replicate with partner <server1> due to a
comunication eror. .... but failed with error ID: 5 (Access is denied.).
Event ID: 5002

I have searched on line but not able to find an applicable answer.
Help would be appreciated.

Hello Hiker7,

Sounds that both servers are not connect properly, any firewall between them?
Can you ping with ip address, server name and FQDN? Please post an unedited
ipconfig /all form both servers so we can exclude DNS as a source.
