I am selling my e-machine and feel it important to include the
recovery disk which I can't find. I know I can call e-machine for one
but I am sure they will charge me this time since it's the second one
I've lost. :-) I formated back to factory using D: drive recovery, so
my question is this...

...Can't I just copy the D: drive recovery to dvd and use that as a
substitution for the original recovery disk? I know for %100 sure the
system is clean at its current state, so wouldn't that work just as
well if the OS crashed or got infected?

TIA,
DS

Here's a thought. Download a trial copy of Ghost, image the newly
restored filesystem to a DVD, and give the copy of Ghost (burnt as an
ISO on a CD) along with your image to the new person.

Then to restore, boot from the Ghost disk and replay the image. If
you're kind you'll have installed SP3 and other outstanding patches
before saving the image :)
