I'm running W7 Home Premium and I have some troubles with my trashcan.

On the desktop it LOOKs like something is in the can, but if I dobble click
on the trashcan it's empty and in the lower part of the window it says "0
elements".

If I try to empty the trashcan - it asks me if I want to delete X elements
permanently.

If I create a document on the desktop and drags it into the trashcan - NO
asking if I want to and it's still NOT visible if I dobble clock. If I try to
empty the trashcan, it asks if I want to delete (X+1) elements permanently.

In trashcan properties the "asking" IS checked !

I have no search criteria defined in the trash can.

What is wrong ?
